Bickett Family

Many thanks to Stephanie and Andrew Branco for their assistance with installing and instructing Mrs. Bickett on the correct usage of the Regent the foundation recently donated to her son.
Ashley Bickett talks about the installation of the Regent that was recently performed in her vehicle for her son: "It went well! It took about an hour to get the seat installed properly, so [my son] was a little anxious by the time it was all said and done, but he was very excited.
The man who installed it came in and out of the building a couple of times (for paperwork and such) and every time he walked out, [my son] would say, "Where's my car seat??" When Stephanie (one of the EMS's) finally brought it out, [my son] put his old car seat next to the new one and he laughed and said, "The new seat is a MONSTER!" It is much bigger than the old one. He touched the fabric and his eyes lit up when he looked at me and said, "It's really soft!!' He touched it again and said, "Mommy, YOU touch it." So I did, and commented on how soft it was, of course. My Mom came with us, so he then insisted that SHE touch it, as well.
He really enjoyed looking at all of the EMS vehicles while he waited, too. He admired all of the lights on them.
The CPS techs installed the seat first, showed me how it was done and how snug it should be. Then they had me install it myself to make sure I could do it alone in the case that I may need to switch vehicles or take the seat out for any reason. That was actually a great way to do it! I never could get his old seat quite tight enough for comfort. They showed me a technique that is a little more time consuming, but well worth the time. I can get it in there tightly enough to allow NO room for shifting...by myself! They also gave me a piece of shelf liner that really helps keep it snug against the leather. It was very informative and I now feel so much more confident in [my son]'s safety. Plus, he LOVES the seat! He falls asleep in it pretty much every time he gets in it. Actually, now that I say that, I can't remember a time yet that he hasn't! He's comfortable, and I'm confident. I can't thank guys enough.
Thank you so much!!"
